A logo specially designed to celebrate Pakistan's 50 years of independence in 1997 was also sported by all PIA aircraft. Each PIA aircraft was also given name of a Pakistani city or landmark and this name was painted below that logo. The aircraft name was painted in Urdu on starboard side and in English on port side of the aircraft.
