AP-BFY parked on Multan International Airport runway to operate pre-Hajj flight in 2010. Under Multan International Airport upgradation project, the airport's runway has been extended to allow Boeing 747 flight operations. In few years' time, under this upgradation project, construction of airport's terminal building will also be completed which will allow Boeing 747 flights passengers a more convenient direct access between the aircraft and terminal building. The upgradation project will also include construction of taxiways and apron to allow Boeing 747 aircraft movement between runway and terminal building. For the time being, till the completion of Multan International Airport upgradation project, the Boeing 747 is parked on runway for passengers embarkation and disembarkation process. The airport remains closed for other flights operation when the Boeing 747 is parked on runway
