Brothers, the best way of prosperity of PIA is to perform wudu and offer two nafal prayer and then pray to Allah because He is the One who can prosper it. Neither Emirates nor KLM can be means of its success. Why? because PIA is an airline of a Muslim country, hence, the approach should also be of a Muslim way. The unbelievers say that so and so person or so and so organisation can salvage. Finally, this is the reason why our country is backward in every field because of our terminated reliance on Allah. Sitting for hours and hours in TV shows or in forums blaming others with abusing words and wondering why doesn't this happen is, believe me, totally futile. Instead it is thousand times better to to do what is above mentioned.
It was so heart wrenching and crippling when the Fokker crash occured. The crash itself was deadly, but the response in this forum was deadlier. Some members even used, indirectly, some of the most blasphemous and darogatory words which should not be even used for an unbeliever. But overhere many got slaves of their emotions and did what should not have been done. Immortality is foremost factor, when a person forgets that he has to return to his Lord unannounced. This fatal crash is infact a lesseon for us as well that how those people said goodbye to their loved ones in the morning not knowing that this their last meeting. We should have a firm belief in the fact that death is inevitable and can come any time, any date without restriction and without any prior information.
I sincerely pray from core of my heart for the victims of the crash for the highest place in the eternity and for the betterment of PIA and its employees because this is the one only way for prosperity.
This reply is bit out of topic, but I believe it was necessary for forum members and other visitors to know how their ambitious and woderful ideas can really come into implementation.

care to share what you are smoking?
and that is what this thread is about, the pakistani hakumut must change how PIA is run..it should no longer be part of the MoD...but contracted out...if the United States Military can contract out carriers to fly military personnel 1/2 way across the world, surely the Pakistani Government can too....Saleem Hatoum wrote:Motharam Amaad Lone,
*Under this wing, all matters relating to PIAC will be deemed as national security assets of the state.
*PIAC is under mandatory orders to provide the State all facilities by at any given time and for the period ordained by the MoD.
This is an example for PIA using PAF assets when F-27 was grounded. Why should PAF provide help to PIA?
PIAC moved military equipment and assets for MoD during 65 & 71 wars. PIA moved 25,000 tons of gold for People’s Republic of China from 1969 to 1971 using B-707C/F ferrying gold from Zurich and London. Ever thought why did PIA B-707 AP-AVZ crashed in Urumqi-Diwopu,China and what was it doing there? http://www.historyofpia.com/accidents2.htm. This movment was secretly done between GoP and PRC with PIAC as cover
During crisis of 1971 four PIA B-707 were dedicated to transport men and material for Khyber Rifles, Thal Scouts, Tochi Scouts, Rangers, and Frontier Force., via CMB. No private airline is under obligation to provide this type of service
Other airlines around the world are considered as national security assets. LH, BA, AF, SQ, AA, DL, UA, JAL, etc are under the obligation to provide support for national defense. Even though some of these airlines are 100% owned by shareholders but they are under obligation. PIAC is direct wing of MoD.
Private airlines in Pakistan are under no obligation to respond to GoP request they can do whatever they want to and GoP will not help them in good or bad times but PIAC is not.
Pak railway, all the roads, ports, airports, and airspace are national asset of Pakistan and they are not open for “privatization†This is not the case in Pakistan but all the countries of the world.
The logic behind all your 10 points is explained and no nuclear, khalistan, zardari, etc, issues are connected to PIAC privatizing. But again bahi meray Amaad, we have some section of our population which can walk the walk but rest is truck load of horse shit
for PK to be successful, there needs to be a new charter..and given autonomy with good, capable people...

Yes, that's true. According to a friend of mine AP-AVZ was flying under the command of Capt. Anver Khan when it met the accident. The aircraft was landing at Urumqi to pick up arms and ammunition for Pakistan's armed forces fighting 1971 war with India.Saleem Hatoum wrote:PIAC moved military equipment and assets for MoD during 65 & 71 wars. Off topic: PIA Fokker F-27s also flew patrol missions to defend Karachi port and helped Pakistan Navy and Air Force to hunt down Indian Navy's missile boats attacking Karachi harbour and Pakistan Navy installations during the 1971 war. I read somewhere that PIA Fokker F-27 (AP-ALX) was on one of these patrol missions when it crashed on December 12, 1971. All four people aboard the aircraft died in this accident.

ok..keeping everything else aside.....
supposing PIA is privatised..what would be better ? PIA being bought by a foriegn carrier or PIA facing the same scenario Aero Asia is facing ?
plus.,..if PIA is bought by a foreign carrier..will that carrier have the authority to buy aircraft and add them to PIA's fleet ? this might seem like a very dumb question but i honestly dont know jack about how this entire privatisation and business related scene is run...
apart from this..will that carrier be able to transfer pilots from the airline it had been running initially to PIA ?

it is totally true, PIA's precision eng dept had PAF agenda back in 80's. in my opinion these are two different topics
+ PIA getting govt financial support for 777, or getting help with debt management.....
+ PAF upgrading its equipment
privatization issue is indeed a deep issue cz PIA has MOD objectives... which in no doubt have their own significance

BLAST FROM THE PAST.
The airline has lost over 60,000,000,000 rupees since this thread was first started in middle of 2006.
Many faces have changed in the past three years.
