Re: PIA to Acquire up to Three Wide-body Aircraft on Dry Lease
yes it will be great.
Infact the flight schedule has improved a lot, I mean the pia flights are mostly leaving and arriving on time.
A delay upto 15 mins, we can accept as there are a lot of things like getting clearance for take off and landing. This is always awesome for airlines

Just for information. 15 minutes delay is allowed in deptd of flights and a delay of 15 minutes is not even logged into the log book. Beyond 15 minutes the delay has to be mentioned in the log book with reason.

Any photos of the interior of AP-BMG yet? It's been active for a while now.

The two Boeing 777-200ERs (AP-BMG & AP-BMH) were regularly performing Vietnam Airlines' flights to European countries including UK, Germany and France before joining PIA.
So, I don't understand what all this so-called "clearance" issue is about?

Maybe everytime an aircraft changes to a different airline they need a clearance?Abbas Ali wrote:The two Boeing 777-200ERs (AP-BMG & AP-BMH) were regularly performing Vietnam Airlines' flights to European countries including UK, Germany and France before joining PIA.

Re: PIA to Acquire up to Three Wide-body Aircraft on Dry Lease
So the total fleet would come up to : (And correct me if I am wrong)
-ATR42/72 :10
-A320 : 13
-A310 : 5 currently active.
-777 : 12.
Which brings the fleet strength to 40. The 310's I am assuming will be around for a while since the current increase in PIA's frequencies on their medium haul routes is unsustainable without these 4-5 A310's. Which makes me wonder, have they started thinking about what the replacement for the 310's will be? It cannot be more 777's since what is needed is something in the 180-230 seat range. 787/350 is wishful thinking. I am wondering if they can get their hands on some A321's from somewhere to fill the gap.
Down the line they will probably need more 777's if they wish to expand their long haul routes, but that is a different discussion altogether. Wondering what you all think/know.

Re: PIA to Acquire up to Three Wide-body Aircraft on Dry Lease
I found out how many seat 25 Business class when my deaf friend tried to book business class for disabled and reservation told him that business class changed reduced from 35 to 25 Business class that why they told me that aircraft changed. I believed AP-BMG fly PK757 tomorrow and PK758 tomorrow then Sunday PK787 & PK788 but this Sunday PK785 will be 77W. Can you ask reservation office to check how many seat and what aircraft type?

As per Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) UK official website;
Where a permit is required.
Source: CAA UK
Where a permit is required.
Except where outlined below before operating to, from or within the United Kingdom all users of non-UK registered aircraft must be in possession of an operating permit (permission) issued under the Air Navigation Order 2009. This requirement extends to all scheduled and non-scheduled passenger and cargo charters that are not covered by the provisions of the European Market Access Regulation.
Where a permit is NOT required.Non-UK registered aircraft undertaking commercial services also require a permit before being able to operate to the Isle of Man, Channel Islands and the UK overseas territories.
If you will go further and see "List of airlines banned from operating within the EU" you will notice that banned operator aircraft registrations are mentioned in the list. In reverse, it is clear that "each single" aircraft registration require a permission.Certain flights using non-UK registered aircraft do not require any additional approval namely:
Private flights;
Overflights of the UK;
Flights exercising traffic rights permitted by Chapter III of the European Market Access Regulation;
State flights undertaken on behalf of a foreign Government (for example flights carrying Heads of State/Government Ministers;
Flights by military-registered aircraft (‘State’ not ‘Civil’ flights)

Re: PIA to Acquire up to Three Wide-body Aircraft on Dry Lease
^ Thanks for sharing that useful info.
So, it seems cancellation of aircraft registration VN-A149 in Vietnam aircraft register and its registration as AP-BMG in Pakistan aircraft register makes issuance of clearance required for operating the aircraft to UK under its new Pakistani registration AP-BMG.
Maybe PIA not in a hurry to get that clearance? Or paperwork for issuance of that clearance takes time?
