I've always wondered why they CAA did what they did, I understand that the open sky policy is too attract more airlines into Pakistan but the CAA have literally sold off any chance of PIA being competitive again. I believe that because of PIA being privatised the CAA are literally just interested in lining their own pockets and don't have any intention of protecting the national carrier.

Re: PIA to Acquire up to Three Wide-body Aircraft on Dry Lease
I don't even think it's the ME6 carriers, there is so much potential for major European and Asian carriers to enter Pakistan, everybody prefers direct flights. But as long as there are security concerns no amount of profit will be worth while. Tbh with the new formation that PIA want to introduce 1-2-1 the amount of business class seats would be almost halved. I do think they will increase the price to European and North American routes, but as long as the cabin and service is superior to before I think a slight price increase is justifiable. Hopefully the seats will be ready by the end of the year.Sherry3002 wrote:Hahadreamliner99 wrote:Yes I have caught on haha. But this said, despite the new seats PIA will have to keep the prices as current, since if they raise them there will be no difference between the superior service by the ME6 and the new seats of PIA, for which people will pay the same amount to travel ME6 style, who have more experience in the 'premium quality' that we pay for. I think PIA needs to revamp it's terrible economy seats. I don't think they are very comfortable.
PIA's economy is pretty bad, but I don't think it is high on the priority list for management. Hopefully when a strategic partner is brought in they wont look past these factors.

When will the get the "strategic Partner " anyways?
And the discussion is diverging from the original perpose of this thread I would recommend to start a new thread about the recent discussion about PIA and ME6

Hopefully within the next 6 months. Sorry didn't realise we were going off topic.Pakistan-1 wrote:When will the get the "strategic Partner " anyways?

Apparently in the next six months, but probably by next year. I also concur that I didn't realise we had drifted off topic.Pakistan-1 wrote:When will the get the "strategic Partner " anyways?

True. Hope a strategic partner is brought in. For the sake of staying on topic, I think we can end it by saying that PIA should deploy the 777 first to China, then open routes such as Rome, Barcelona and Frankfurt. JFK should be non-stop, frequencies should be increased and new cabin interiors should be introduced. I wish PIA the best, and hope they can re-conquer the routes they have lost.dreamliner99 wrote:I don't even think it's the ME6 carriers, there is so much potential for major European and Asian carriers to enter Pakistan, everybody prefers direct flights. Sherry3002 & dreamliner99, you two don't necessarily have to quote each other's replies/discussion every time especially when replying to a post above your reply.
Quoting all replies/entire your discussion again & again makes topic appearance irritating to eyes. Page number 14 (see: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=23193&start=195) of this topic is already looking bad with such long quotes by you two guys.
Thank you for understanding.

In case of PIA and a startegic partner, it will mean that, that partner does not have the organisational capabilities. I think this might be a ME airline simply because they are denied getting more slots in to EU airports. I can't think of other reasons.
ON topic: Great to see more 777s being added. I would love to see the Kenya boeings being added too

Forgive me for all the quoting, i wont make the mistake again
Back on topic, I would love to see the new Kenyan birds with PIA. They are almost brand new and wouldn't need any cabin improvements.

Re: PIA to Acquire up to Three Wide-body Aircraft on Dry Lease
But it would starkly contrast when PIA has such beautiful 77W's and then these pathetic 772's. Researched for these results:
Kenya Airways 77W's Cabins:
Club Class (ie- Business Plus+)

Economy Class:

Vietnam Airlines 772's Cabins:
Club Class:

Economy Class:

It's obvious we can't operate the 772's with recliners and tiny PTV's.

If you go on PIA's Twitter they posted today about the new business class seats. Maybe they will be fitted on the 777 being delivered this week. It's logical that they would fit the seats before the aircraft is put in service, this way they wouldn't disrupt the flight schedule.

Are you sure it's the official account? PIA has like 20 game accounts all claiming to be official.

The caa retweeted it so I'm guessing it must be genuine. Is there any reason why the delivery is being delayed? Also isn't AP-BLY meant to be delivered today?
