PIA to seek financial assistance/bailout package of ten billion rupees from the Ministry of Finance, Government of Pakistan, according to October 12 newspaper report.
A delegation led by Chairman PIA Saqib Aziz met finance secretary and gave him briefing on financial problems faced by the airline.
The cash strapped airline is unable to employees salaries and medical bills. Various jet fuel supply companies inside and outside Pakistan also have threatened to suspend supplies due to unpaid bills by the airline.
