PIA to Induct Two Airbus A320s on Dry Lease

PIA is going to induct two Airbus A320 aircraft on dry lease. The two aircraft are being inspected by officials.

The airline is inducting the two aircraft according to Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) rules & regulations.

Currently PIA has eleven dry leased Airbus A320s in its fleet of thirty-two aircraft.

PIA Decides to Induct Two Aircraft In Its Fleet

Karachi, October 6, 2018: PIA has decided to induct two new aircraft in its fleet in first quarter of 2019. The Airbus A320 aircraft already under the evaluation phase will be acquired on dry lease strictly in accordance with Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) rules.

The decision was taken in an executive meeting chaired by Chairman & CEO Muhammad Saqib Aziz. The meeting reviewed the performance of airline during last months. It was discussed in the meeting that due to increasing demand in market, enhancement of fleet has become necessary as the present fleet is not sufficient to cater to the demand.

Mr. Saqib Aziz said that the acquisition of two aircraft will certainly help PIA in expanding its network and passenger base as well. These aircraft will mainly be used on domestic and regional routes including Gulf and Southeast Asia, he said.

Has PIA decided to get more than 2 Airbus 320’s in the near future? Their requirement of getting more aircrafts is getting more and more each passing day. Also PIA needs either Airbus 330’s or 777 to fulfill their demand of pax air travel which in Pakistan is increasing at an exponential rate.
