787 finally delivered

Boeing delivered the first version of its long-awaited Dreamliner 787 plane to its first customer on Monday, almost a decade after the jet was first conceived of.

The Dreamliners won't take any passengers anywhere until a formal launch in the fall. But the company will spend the next week sending the jet on actual ANA routes to ensure it can handle all the normal routines, such as landing, takeoff, taxiing, refueling and cargo-loading in Japanese airports.

The actual jet delivered Monday is only a test model, but the commercial versions are expected to be delivered by the end of the summer and flights will begin shortly thereafter.

It's flying to DEL on July 13 and then to BOM later. Waiting to nail it if its a day time arrival.
