Gather interesting infos here!!!

Post by haroon_ek »

I have some interesting info about world airlines. Please share yours too!!

1) Before the introduction of A330 into their fleet, Virgin Atlantic has all airplanes operated by 4 engines namely A340 and B747.

2) Lufthansa and Qantas are the two world's biggest airlines which don't have any B777 in their fleet.

3) Some of the airlines having all wide body aircrafts: Emirates, Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, V Australia, Virgin Atlantic, Air Transat, Evergreen International Airlines, Air Asia X and Air Tahiti Nui.

If you have any interesting info, let us know :)

Virgin Atlantic does not own A330s. Where did you get this line from?
The orbital speed of the Earth around the Sun averages about 30 km/s or 18 mps (108,000 km/h or 67000 mph).
Which means we're travelling 97 times the speed of sound. And yet we can't feel the motion,

Qantas is not even among the 'biggest' airlines of the world. Their international network is very limited.

-British Airways is the largest operator of B747-400. They have 57.
-Lufthansa operates every model of airbus civilian aircrafts.
4 engines 4 long-haul

The idea is in the pipeline but they haven't introduced this type. Therefore they are very much four engined run airline.

Have a good day :)

Here is intersting piece of info.

The current Continental livery was unveiled 20 years ago this week, exact date being 12 February 1991.

I took this piece of information from airliners.net. If you want more information click the link below.

Virgin when buying the A 340 had to decide between A 340 and 777. They asked their customers for their opinion who came to the conclusion that they felt safer in a four engine airplane rather than a twin thus they bought the A 340.

Virgin Atlantic Airways brand new Airbus A330-343X on pre-delivery test flight under French registration F-WWKY photographed at Toulouse, France, on February 8, 2011.

The aircraft is named "Queen Beauty" and British registration G-VSXY is reserved for this aircraft.

So why are they now introducing a two engined plane if the concept behind the plan was 'safety'? :-k

They conducted this survey long ago. I am certainly not the right person to comment on this change of policy. Possibly fuel prices could be one big reason.
