Re: Passenger plane crashes in mountains near Kabul
(Reuters) - Early reports indicate that a plane that crashed near Kabul International Airport on Tuesday night was an L-100 Hercules, the civilian equivalent of the military C-130 transport plane, the NATO-led force in Afghanistan said on Tuesday.
The plane came down around 25 to 30 kilometers east of Kabul International Airport just before 8 pm local time (1530 GMT), the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said.
An ISAF spokesman said he had no details on how many people were onboard the plane at the time of the crash.
