Examples:

Fokker F27s acquired in brand new condition from Fokker and later used F27s added to increase number of that aircraft type in fleet.

Boeing 720Bs acquired in brand new condition from Boeing and later used Boeing 720Bs added to increase number of that aircraft type in fleet.

McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30s acquired in brand new condition from McDonnell Douglas and later a used DC-10 inducted in fleet.

Airbus A300s acquired in brand new condition from Airbus and later used A300s added to increase number of that aircraft type in fleet.

Airbus A310-300s acquired in brand new condition from Airbus and later used A310s added to increase number of that aircraft type in fleet.

ATRs acquired in brand new condition from ATR and later used ATRs added in fleet.

Boeing 777s acquired in brand new condition from Boeing and now used B777s to be added to increase number of that aircraft type in fleet.

Wasn't it the same case with the 707's? The first 3 707's came in 1966 starting with AP-AUN, AUO and AUP and second hand examples were acquired from Northwest along with a couple more brand new ones.
A leased Boeing 707 performed PIA flights for more than two years between 1960 & 1962 that's why I did not include B707 in that list because it was introduced in PIA for the first time as a leased aircraft in used condition.

Boeing 707-321 registration N723PA of Pan American World Airways was on lease to PIA from February 9, 1960, to December 12, 1962.

If maintained well a ten year old 777 should serve PIA well.

Chances are that once in PIA, the 777 will face more abuse then its tenure with Vietnam Airlines.

It's OK, any way they are revenue passengers. And UMRA sector either from KHI, LHE or ISB is still the one which usually post profit despite terrible performance of PIA on European and N.American routes.

At the end of the day it is responsibility of PIA Cabin crew to discipline rowdy passengers. Also, i do understand that many of the **first time** UMRA pilgrims are traveling on PIA because they feel comfortable with same language speaking crew.

It would be great if this image is given as a suggestion to Mr. Shujat Azeem to paint pictures on the tail of upcoming 777s of National Heros like Quad-e-Azam, Ilama Iqbal, etc.

Abbas, what about the deal with Kenya Airways? All the aircrafts that will be delivered starting from October are 772, what about the 773 deal we were expecting to kick off?

^ As far as I know, PIA never said it's getting Kenyan Boeing 777-300ERs and did not sign any deal for those aircraft.

Kenyan aircraft were among Boeing 777s offered under this bidding invitation and apparently PIA decided to get Boeing 777-200ERs offered by AerCap.
