Re: PIA to Acquire up to Three Wide-body Aircraft on Dry Lease
Painting another aircraft in retro livery will be craziness. Only one A320 in retro livery should have been good enough for the time being.
An A320 can be painted in green & gold livery in year 2020 when PIA will be celebrating its 65th anniversary (1955-2020).

Get ready for another retro.
They are correcting mistakes on AP-BMG like "PIA" on doors, and later national flag and "PAKISTAN INTERNATIONAL".
I realized, if someone make a perfect drawing, but the people who will follow it are not skilled enough to understand a technical drawing, job can't be done perfectly. Same case here, I believe drawings are good enough but the people who doing end-point job, they are unable to understand the 'technicality' of drawings.

All of the talk on livelries is getting very monotonous and repetitive, at the end of the day the aircraft could be painted all white and travellers wouldn't care less, customers want good service, reliability and value for money not a retro livery.

Re: PIA to Acquire up to Three Wide-body Aircraft on Dry Lease
I'm gonna be sick if I see one more aircraft in retro livery! This is torture! No airline paints so many aircraft in a retro livery. Maybe one 777 and one A320, the most used aircraft could have been painted in a correct retro livery, but 1/4 of the fleet is too much! Please, please someone tell them to stop.
Dreamliner99- That's true, it doesn't matter to most travellers. But nonetheless, the appearance of an aircraft makes a difference. An aircraft painted in sloppy paint and a stupid design would not be very appealing.

Another Boeing 777 added to PIA’s fleet
Karachi - December 2, 2015
In an effort to further expand the fleet and induct more fuel efficient aircraft under PIA's revival strategy, the national airlines has added another Boeing 777-200ER aircraft in its fleet today.
With the addition of this aircraft, which arrived at Jinnah International Air Port (JIAP) - Karachi this afternoon, the total number of aircraft in PIA's fleet has risen to 38.
Commenting on the induction of another Boeing 777 aircraft, Chairman PIA stated that it is for the first time in the history of PIA that a series of modern aircraft have been added to the national flag carrier’s fleet in such a short period of time. He said that induction of the incoming aircraft would further improve the national airline's passenger carrying capacity.
The aircraft, to be used for both long and short haul flights, would start operating after completion of all formalities later this month.

I like the nerve of some saying livery discussions are boring and monotonous, maybe not to those of us having interest in that area, all types of people are on this forum, neither are we trying o force livery discussions on you nor should you try and shut those up, did it occur to you how boring and monotonous topics that interest you are to us, are we telling you to stop discussing arrival of aircraft, its timing, its interior layout etc.

Re: PIA to Acquire up to Three Wide-body Aircraft on Dry Lease
AP-BMG & AP-BMH MTOW 298000kg can fly nonstop to YYZ but AP-BGJ K L only 273000kg
I got information is
In February 2002, the airline selected GE Aircraft Engines' (GEAE) GE90-94B engine to power the two 777-200ERs it is leasing from International Lease Finance (ILFC). The GE90-powered 777 is the first longer-range aircraft to enter service with the airline.
"We are pleased to be a part of the delivery of the first GE90-powered 777 at Vietnam Airlines," said Chaker Chahrour, general manager of the GE90 Project Department at GEAE. "The GE90 engines will provide Vietnam with unmatched flexibility and reliability as it undertakes non-stop extended-range twin-engine operations (ETOPS)."
The new 777s will have a maximum take-off weight (MTOW) of 656,000 pounds, requiring the 94,000 pound-thrust GE90-94B for non-stop flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam to Paris, France.
