Good newz, PIA should really focus on resuming off-stations.

2 weekly flights are being shown PK 762, on T & F to ISL.

Would it not be better if they extend one flight to Lahore / Karachi? Or one flight from / to Islamabad via Istanbul and one flight from / to Lahore / Karachi via Istanbul?

Btw, they've changed their shedules view options a bit.
Life is like a flight, every time you have risen, flown and reached, you must land again.

Is this confirmed? What are the timings?
I'll certainly go on 4 July to spot my country's national airline :D
Whatever it will be, a 777 or a A310! Pakistan Zindabad! PIA Zindabad!

I wonder if PK has fifth freedom rights between AMS and IST - this is a very popular route with lots of Dutch/Belgian people of Turkish origin travelling all the time, so could be worth the fanfare if they advertise it properly

PIA has operated this route in the past and PIA used to be the cheapest option on this route with DC10's followed by 747's. After operating the route for many many years, suddenly PIA wrapped up and closed Turkey operations altogether in 1990's. PIA offices in Ankara and Istanbul were closed down as well. PIA office in Istanbul used to be located in Hilton hotel at Taksim square. PIA used the same hotel for crew stay those days.

Currently, PIA is managing through a GSA. The GSA website http://www.airep.com/pia.asp is not showing IST-AMS fares yet. Only fares displayed are in East direction with IST departures.

On this sector, along with Turkish / KLM, how many other carriers will be competing with PIA? And is the PIA fare competitive with rest of carriers on the route?

According to the email PIA fares are competative to other airlines on this route though low fare airline are cheaper than this.
But at moment Agents of PIA is holland e.g Khan travels demanding a very high fare from Amsterdam to islamabad(1050€ to 1100 €).
Which is much more higher than its competators like Gulf air and lufthansa.Gulfair return ticket for lahore is available only for 700 to 750€.
and for lufthansa 750€ to 800€ from amsterdam.Emirates available from Dussoldorf to lahore in range of 630€ to 700€.How PIA can compete with these carriers with such a high fare.
Regard,
