Refurbished Fokker F-27-500 going to Pakistan

According to reliable sources Fokker F-27 Mk 500 (c/n 10686), current registration D-ADUP, has been refurbished and is going to Pakistan. Most probably some oil & gas exploration company is going to operate it in Pakistan. Any idea which company is going to operate it and what registration it's going to get in Pakistan?

if I'm not wrong then i'd probably gonna die from happiness!!! the only Oil and Gas company i know in pakistan is OGDCL which my dad is a pilot for! a few months back, my dad told me that they're going to buy a new plane since the DHC-6 is over 20 years old now (but i find it in excellent condition, every year it goes to dubai for maintenence)! my dad and his junior pilot, who's actually the boss in office told my dad for the choice of Eclipse 500 which i liked alot, it's a small sleeky fast aircraft built for 5-7 pax only! Maybe the new plane was not decided so they probably bought the F-27! next time i goto Pakistan, I'm surelly going to ride on this aircraft if its for OGDCL but if not then i dunno........

Ask your father about this, offcourse OGDCL would surely inform their pilots of aquiring of a new plane.

Any stats on the aircraft, such as year of production?

A search of Myaviation.net shows the latest picture of this aircraft from 2001.... has it been in storage for a while?

The aircraft was manufactured in 1985 and itÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢s one of the last F-27 Mk 500 produced by the Fokker Company. I think it's looking very smart after refurbishment and fresh paint work!

Since F-27 Mk 500 has a large cargo door on port side of fuselage, this allows its user to transport bigger/wider equipment to the fields. PIA Fokker F-27 Mk 400 (AP-ALW) also had large cargo door on port side of the fuselage and it was also chartered from time to time by oil/gas exploration companies for flights to different fields.

In Pakistan, privately owned and foreign oil/gas exploration companies also use leased/chartered aircraft for flights to different fields. For example British Petroleum use their Karachi-based DHC-6 Twin Otter for visit to different oil/gas fields in Pakistan.

Here's more info about Fokker F-27-500 (D-ADUP): The aircraft will be based at Karachi Airport and operated by BHP Billiton of Australia. BHP Billiton is working on Zamzama Gas Field expansion project. The Zamzama field is the fourth largest gas discovery in Pakistan. The field is situated in the Sindh province, approximately 300 kilometres north of Karachi. Currently, the field contributes approximately 15 per cent of Pakistan's total daily gas production.

Aventure Aviation was appointed by BHP Billiton to assist in selection of the aircraft for their work in Pakistan. Aventure Aviation (see link: Aventure Aviation - News & Events) selected 50 passenger seating capacity F-27-500 aircraft for the operations and then contracted Aerotechnic GmbH in Baden-Baden, Germany to carry out the heavy maintenance, refurbishment and painting work on the acquired Fokker F27.

Aventure has contracted the ferry flight to Pakistan by Captain Harald Mueller - a highly experienced Pilot and the maintenance operation for the first three months under the supervision of Engineer Holger Meinke, both from Germany.

The F-27's German registration D-ADUP was cancelled on December 29, 2006 for export to Pakistan.

Does anyone know its Pakistani registration? Also, is it in service with Pakistan's privately owned JS Air?

You are so right on this one

, i just wished PIA's high maintenance standards would have been same now days compared to old days of 60s and 70s!, that was the time when self pocketing money was not a problem yet customer service was the main focus and other worldwide airlines use to contract PIA for the maintenance of parts and there aircrafts....

i saw an F27 fly over my university ( in khi ) today..it had this baige and white livery seperated by a sash like line..the colours were similar to the ones PIA has going but they were in a different position..could it be the one this company is planning on using ?
