India Seeking Reopening of Pakistani Airspace for Indian Aircraft

India has conveyed to Pakistan that it is ready to restore Indus Water Treaty and allow the natural flow of rivers.

◾ In return, Indian govt is seeking the reopening of Pakistani airspace for the Indian airlines without restrictions.

◾ Pakistan has kept its airspace closed to the Indian Airlines since last year's military conflict with India.

◾ This has caused millions of dollars of loss to Indian Airlines due to longer routes and additional operating costs.

Since April 24, 2025, Pakistan airspace not available for Indian registered aircraft and aircraft operated/owned or leased by Indian airlines/operators including military flights.

Beneficial for us both ways, getting water and getting airspace revenue.
