So, they just refurbished the old seats with no in-seat power outlets. My contact claimed seats looked newer and none were torn.

Now that they have WiFi based entertainment, I would suggest people carry their own sufficient capacity power banks with them to charge their mobile devices inflight. Not many mobile devices will last for whole YYZ flight without recharging.

what is PIA policy on carrying & using power banks in-flights?
I believe several airlines have completely banned the use of power banks however one may be kept in carry-on.
Also several airlines allowed limited usage upto 5000mAH.

On April 3, PIA Boeing 777-200LR aircraft registration AP-BGZ returned to the skies when it departed from Karachi at 11:34 AM and landed in Karachi at 12:52 PM. Test flight completed in 1 hour 19 minutes. Maximum altitude attained by the aircraft 36,025 feet. During the test flight the aircraft performed touch-and-go landing (TGL) twice.

AP-BGZ was on the ground at Karachi Airport since May 12, 2025.

On April 10, PIA Boeing 777-200LR aircraft registration AP-BGZ resumed performing commercial flights for the airline when it left Karachi at 4:13 PM as flight PK308 to Islamabad.
