Move BGZ engines to BID and bring it back.

Plus other parts that can be used.

Might be more feasible to revive BID rather than repair BGZ.

Person who approved the Work Order with use of under-rated Jacks must be held accountable. Unless heads roll, another EU/UK/US/Canada ban is in the waiting.

Nothing new is happening there. These are gradual and systematic failures occurring one after another, perfectly illustrating the Swiss Cheese Model, where multiple layers of defense erode and align to create an accident trajectory. Routine incidents are clear indicators of deeper underlying issues. If these are not addressed promptly with a proactive and structured approach, they may eventually culminate in a major accident. Whether an incident happens on the ground or in the air, the consequences are the same—financial losses, potential human harm, and undeniable evidence of systemic failures.

The root cause is clear: an unprofessional maintenance culture—extending even to the regulatory body, where personnel have limited oversight exposure and insufficient competency as regulators. Many key individuals lack adequate familiarity with international standards and modern aircraft maintenance practices. The world is evolving rapidly, and decades-old maintenance methods are no longer sufficient. Compounding this, PIA’s ongoing financial constraints are further limiting the organization’s ability to adopt, implement, and sustain necessary improvements.

This situation will continue until there is a major shift in the hierarchy and organizational culture. Privatization may be one possible path to such change; however, that process is also hindered by inefficiencies at the government level, bringing the entire effort back to square one repeatedly.

Yes, it's nothing new. It's normal in PIA. It's yet another PIA first!

I think the focus of new owners is also on fleet improvement, refurbishment and bringing back grounded fleet. Looks like a positive year ahead for PIA

Interesting, i suppose this might put into question the earlier reports of structural damage and other such rumors. I imagine if they are spending time on its maintenance it seems airworthy and they are interested in bringing it back soon. I guess we'll see soon enough.

Recent photo of PIA Boeing 777-200LR registration AP-BGZ inside Ispahani wide-body aircraft maintenance hangar at Karachi Airport. Apparently the aircraft is being prepared to resume flying.

Well that's great. I think 2 more 777s will come back by the time London flights resume. BGZ and BGJ maybe.

BGY has received new seats and Wi-Fi streaming. People travelling recently are reporting flawless streaming on personal devices.

I assume BGZ will also being getting Wi-Fi streaming entertainment and new seats. USB charge ports are not installed. Can someone confirm if in-seat 110/220V power outlets are also being installed or not?

BGY has not received any new seats/interiors I don’t know where you are getting this information from. Also all PIA aircraft have been fitted with the DreamStream entertainment system except the ATR’s.

I believe new management will look into upgrading aircraft interiors/leasing aircraft with functioning IFE.
