Serene Air Planning to Induct More Aircraft & Start International Flights

According to news sources, Serene Air is planning to induct more aircraft and start international flights to Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates. Saudi cities of Jeddah and Medina are among planned international destinations of the airline.

Currently, the airline has a fleet of three Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The airline needs to have a fleet of at least five aircraft to start international flights.

The privately-owned Serene Air is celebrating its three years (2017-2020) of service on domestic routes.

This is good news. I'm almost surprised that it took this long. I wonder if they will use KHI as an international hub - someone needs to push Air Arabia, FlyDubai and Nas.

I also hope they add some domestic capacity. Its badly needed right now. My father in law paid Rs35k for KHI-ISB-KHI week before last. Fares have been at this level for months now.

Serene Air is going to induct following three aircraft to start international flight operations:

1 x Boeing 737-800
2 x Airbus A330-200

The delivery of Boeing 737-800 (registration AP-BNB) from Oslo is expected in March.

Serene Air is planning to launch international operations with flights to Saudi Arabia. The airline intends to operate international flights to Jeddah, Medina and Dubai/UAE.

Two Airbus A330 expected to join Serene Air fleet by the end of March.

Recently, the airline added fourth Boeing 737-800 (AP-BNB) in its fleet.

Addition of two A330 will raise the total number of aircraft in airline's fleet to six and enable it to launch international flight operations under Pakistan's National Aviation Policy that allows Pakistani airlines to start international flight operations with a fleet of at least five airworthy aircraft registered in Pakistan after completion of one year of continued satisfactory operations on domestic routes with a fleet of at least three airworthy aircraft registered in Pakistan.

Serene Air intends to start international operations with flights to Jeddah in April. The number of Umrah pilgrims increases in the holy month of Ramadan which will start around April 25 this year. Later, the airline will also start flights for Medina and destinations in UAE.

Serene Air has taken its time in launching its International flights, waiting for the right time. Let's hope the coronavirus and reduced demand for travel which is impacting other airlines already does not dampen the expansion plans.

Serene Air has already finalised plans to start regular passengers flight operation between Pakistan and UAE this year. There has been some delays due to COVID-19 situation but the airline is all set to launch operations this year.
