Runway extension is not until 2026 - so this is some years away. Perhaps Virgin may consider sooner, to compete with BA

Thought I would share the following link from Virgin Atlantic's website & their wish list of future destinations.
Interesting to note Karachi appears on the list.
Of course this may never happen or may take a while but interesting to see European carriers now taking an interest in Pakistan.

I think that Delta Air Lines sees Karachi more of a money maker than Virgin, as there is a lot of traffic between the USA and Karachi that is tapped in by the middle east carriers. Even though VS and DL are in a Joint Venture, and essentially one owning the other, I would be surprised if they do decide to serve Karachi.

VS = Virgin Atlantic Airways relationship with PIA because they agreement staff ticket ZED "LOW FARE" = 95% off of fare good luck for VS staff and PIA PK staff.

In 2008 Virgin Atlantic A-340 diverted to KHI after an emergency. Its was parked at the one of the gates. Bright red tail was visible and Abbas might have the photo.
