Today earth breaking ceremony for Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Base Bholari in Sindh was performed. The base will become operational in about eighteen months.

The need for an operational air base in this area was felt during wars/conflicts, according to PAF Chief.

It will be a sophisticated and modern air base for PAF combat aircraft, according to Defence Minister.

Pakistan Air Force Base Bholari - Karachi Inaugurated

Today, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) new air base PAF Base Bholari - Karachi was inaugurated by ceremony's Chief Guest Chief of Air Staff of the PAF Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman. Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah also attended the ceremony. The air base is located in north east of Karachi

The base was opened today as tribute to founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah who was born on December 25.

The operationalization of PAF Base Bholari - Karachi is a major milestone in the history of PAF. The strategic air base will enhance defense in the south and the coast of Karachi. From this air base, PAF aircraft will also assist Pakistan Army ground operations and Pakistan Navy naval operations in the region. It will also provide air defense for China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and maritime operations.

Today, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Zubair Mahmood Hayat visited newly operational PAF Base Bholari where he was received by Chief of Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan.

General Hayat reviewed the new air base, met PAF personnel and praised operational capabilities of PAF.
