FIA to Investigate PIA Aircraft Engines Sent Abroad for Maintenance

According to news sources, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has sent a questionnaire to PIA to investigate aircraft engines sent abroad by the airline for maintenance/repair/overhaul.

Apparently FIA is investigating following engine models sent abroad by PIA for maintenance/repair/overhaul.

Pratt & Whitney PW4000 that powered airline's Airbus A310-300 aircraft.
Rolls-Royce RB211 that powered airline's Boeing 747-300 aircraft.
Pratt & Whitney Canada PW127 that power airline's ATR 42/72 aircraft.
General Electric GE90 that power airline's Boeing 777 aircraft.

According to news report on following link, FIA is seeking details of money spent for maintenance/repair/overhaul of more than fifty aircraft engines sent abroad between 2010 and 2012 by PIA.

Details of PIA officers who approved engines repairs expenses and released money for it also sought by the investigation agency.
