According to PIA Management:

PIA’s newly inducted Airbus A-320 goes operational:
An Airbus A-320 aircraft of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) became operational on Monday, one of the two planes the national flag carrier acquired earlier this month.
The Boeing 777 will join the fleet later this week after completion of departmental formalities, an official of PIA told media on Monday.
PIA will now have two Boeing 777; three 773; four 772; two A-310; three A-31L; 10 A-320; five ATR-72 and six ATR-42 aircraft in its fleet.
After the induction of two new planes in its fleet, PIA would increase the number of flights to various international destinations, including Toronto, New York, Kuala Lumpur, Jeddah, Dammam, Madina, Beijing and Dubai, he added.
The official said the management would add an additional flight to Toronto starting from December, taking the total number of flights to the destination to four per week.
The number of weekly flights to Kuala Lumpur has been increased from five to six; Jeddah from 17 to 21, Dammam from seven to 10, Madina from five to eight, and to Muscat from seven to 11, he maintained.
Similarly, the official said, PIA has started two daily flights from Islamabad to Dubai, in addition to one daily flight from Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar.
The number of weekly flights to Beijing, which was increased to three in August, would be taken to four from next month, the official added.
According to the official, the management is planning to acquire more planes on dry lease, taking its fleet to 40 by current year end and 50 in 2016, the first time in the history of PIA, which is running in losses for the past decade or so.

AOA brother

They should have 7 days a week to Toronto to kill ME3 market. Presently Emirates eithad only 3 days a week, Monday Wednesday Friday and Tuesday Thursday Saturday eithad and Saudia Monday Thursday Saturday

PIA Sunday Tuesday Thursday and Friday

2 Lahore, 2 Karachi, 2 Islamabad and 1 Peshawar?

Presently Emirates 12:30 flight, eithad 13:05, Saudia 11:55 then connection time + 2-5 hours flight depending on city. All PIA flights 14 hours under. Also PIA flights 9 abreast vs 10.

What is the seat configuration of AP-BLY? Still Y180 (as AirAsia had) or has it changed to C8Y150?

AirAsia Airbus A320-216 registration 9M-AFO not seen active in recent days. It's expected to join PIA as AP-BMA.

Airbus A320-216 registration 9M-AFG continues performing AirAsia flights. It's expected to join PIA as AP-BLX.

http://www.flightradar24.com/data/airplanes/9m-afg

So, I guess AP-BMA will be the next A320 to join PIA.

^ AOA brother

Why don't PIA do similar livery? I think expedia.com pays the airline.

This is one way PIA can generate revenue.

PK cannot support daily flights to YYZ without some sort of codeshare to move passenger onwards to other destinations. YYZ alone cannot sustain a daily 777. EK/EY/SV even with their limited frequencies offer a better product and it's not just Pakistanis on those flights.

Also AC has now launched DXB and DEL and I expect they will do well, still there is an opportunity for PK until the Canadian government gives more access to the ME3.

A lot of pakistanis don't have a choice because of the limited frequency of EK/EY to YYZ and therefore have to fly with PK. I know I would rather fly the EK A380 and connect in DXB then fly PK.

AOA bother

They can do 3 flights from western route. I made a thread about it but no one came to help.

Presently, western canada is completely untouched. From Calgary or Vancouver, one has to take stopover in toronto, then dubai if with ME3. Or PIA can fly direct from vancouver/calgary. The closest is seattle which is served by EK, but only 777-300 and ticket very expensive since seats are always sold. Also I found codesharing from YVR/YYC with PIA is VERY expensive.

So 4 from toronto, and 3 divided between calgary/vancouver.

I hope PIA uses new planes on these routes and impress people.
