Very cool. I love the livery, even with the wrong font on the tail this livery looks more classy and stylish then the crap that is on the rest of the fleet.

Good to see PIA making this move and remind the workers and passengers of the past glory.

Congratulations to those here instrumental in making this possible.

However, person project managing the paint job should be advised on his errors. An eye for detail is lacking!

Aircraft model Boeing 707C and Boeing 720B were painted on Boeings in 1960s livery by Boeing Company. As per my information,

1. Engine cowlings already painted in grey color, and no logo will be painted except compulsory signs/symbols.
2. Aircraft model name "A320" in red color will not be painted. Aircraft registration "AP-BLA" will take position between rear door and horizontal stabilizer.
3. Probably, black anti-dazzle/glare paint will remain missing.

At least the incorrect font on the fuselage matches the incorrect font on the tail.

Asalaamualaikum to all,just visited JIAP,was surprised to notice that PIA is not painted on one side of ap-blw.Can anyone inform the authories to take notice as it is looking very bad

Following mistakes spotted in this paint job;

1. Wrong font "ARIAL BLACK" used to write "PIA" and "PAKISTAN INTERNATIONAL" that was actually the part of modified 1960's livery and later.
2. "PIA" written on the tail painted as 'normal', but that should be italic.
3. The tiny stylised aircraft crossing PIA tail logo, doesn't match with it's original design.
4. Starboard side, tiny stylised aircraft is flying in wrong direction. That should fly in forward direction.
5. Each star on starboard side, painted wrong as up-side-down.

Actually, two versions of 1960's livery combined together in above mentioned photo. Look closely and find out differences like "PAKISTAN INTERNATIONAL" font.

First version; AP-ATQ etc.

The Pakistan flag on fuselage should have been tilted like it was in 1960s livery.

There should also have been PIA logo near each cabin door like it was in 1960s livery.

Aircraft registration in green colour should have been painted on grey area of the fuselage like in 1960s livery.

Thanks.

The Pakistan flag painted correctly but "PIA" near cabin door will remain missing. Aircraft registration "AP-BLA" in green color painted on grey area of the fuselage will not be visible enough to comply with current local and international regulations.

I think, PIA livery plotters doesn't have all technical details kept in their record rooms about 1960's livery, because enough time passed and the airline has gone through many changes over time.

BTW, recently someone told me that hundreds of PIA technical and non-technical staff retired or lined up to be retired in close future. PIA doesn't have enough painters but a few who can paint aircraft exterior. They are working very hard to comply with company requirements, using very limited resources.

I believe this is the actual reason why mistakes happening in PIA livery.
