Construction won't finish till Hajj. I heard it'll be ready for Hajj, so we may have many Hajjis this time around as well. So, after Hajj this year, Umra visa can continue and it is nonetheless 14 days from 30 days it used to be, so PIA can nearly double their flights for this sector.
I wish PIA was smart enough to get A330s in past 20 years. They would have been best planes for Middle east sector.

Expansion plan will continue till 2020. Not sure about total number of Umra Passengers, but Haram is witnessing heavy number of Pilgrims all across the world.

So the main building won't finish this year? I was there last month and I'd say things should be done within year or two.
5 years is a huge period of time x.x

^ Why some painted in Pakistan, some in different parts of Europe?
Do it in Pakistan. Already we have so many employees at PIA. Plus it'll help our economy. But good to see 7th a320 will arrive soon! I think 6 more to go.

i would find it more logical to register all the ex- czech airlines a320 from bls instead of adding a lone one to the ex-china eastern lot as ap-bla.
in my opinion most of the new additions should remain in 180 all economy config, with business class only in a select few eg ap-bla to ap-bld
I think lack of availability that is why lone one.
S T U V W X Y Z are 8 aircrafts (S V W confirmed). Then A B C D are 4. I wonder what will be for the last a320. Maybe AP-BMA?
^ Eagerly looking forward to seeing photos of fully painted aircraft. The PIA A320 in retro livery should be sent to maximum possible A320 destinations on airline's route network. It will be good attraction for passengers, airlines's own employees and aviation spotters/photographers at airports visited by this aircraft. Retired PIA employees should be invited when the A320 in retro livery operates first flight from Karachi.
BTW, today Airbus A320-214 registration OK-MEI was ferried as flight OK-9330 from Prague to Bournemouth Airport in UK where it will be painted in PIA livery.
