PIA Invites Bids to Dry Lease up to Ten Narrow Body Aircraft

Following four Airbus A320-200 aircraft for dry lease accepted by PIA bid evaluation report under this bidding invitation. Three offered by AWAS are powered with CFM engines and one offered by Aircastle is powered with IAE engines.

Hmm.....So again a tender for 10 aircrafts is going to reap just 3 aircrafts .They will not sign for the V2500 powered machine if they have a little sense .

why PIA not leasing required number of A320s directly from Airbus? and why posting number of tenders for lessors to submit their bids and bids and bids???

btw, i may assume that out of these 4 selected A320s, PIA will go for 3xA320s with CFM to join the previous selected fleet of 3xA320s from GECAS making total 6xA320 with CFM.

I think OK-MEJ was previously wet-leased to PIA from March to May 2014? Correct me if I am wrong. I hope they induct the 3 A320s on offer from AWAS powered with CFM-56 engines. Hopefully with the likely addition of these 3 A320s, PIA would complete its transition of fleet change from B737 to A320 by the end of this year, In Sha Allah

Airbus and Boeing rarely directly lease aircraft.

and why posting number of tenders for lessors to submit their bids and bids and bids???

Change in govt. Old management gets replaced. Old deals/strategies get cancelled. Privatization is the priority now and for that to occur, PIA has to be close to breaking even. Unrealistic tenders, no money etc.

PIA did float bunch of tenders but very least i can see some thing happening, Keeping current situation of PIA, it's some how good see that they are snailing towards getting some of the highly required Aircft.

there should've been an agreement of some sorts for the aircrafts.

no agreement = no aircrafts.

How can they pay for aircrafts when they can't pay for fuel or employee salaries and allowances ?
