Any idea whether the ferry flight was being operated by our crew or the crew came from Toulouse ?

Is that crew has come here to give our ATR-42 pilots rating/conversion of 72's or some fresh cadet pilots are undergoing simulators for ATR-72's already?

Well the crew that is already operating on ATR 42 is eligible to operate the 72 version too. Only difference is of weight and all.

The aircraft was flown under its French registration F-WNUE by foreign crew (most likely all French nationals) from Toulouse to Karachi via Cyprus and Muscat (Oman).

French registration F-WNUE sticker covering Pakistani registration AP-BKZ painted on the aircraft.

Probably under the lease agreement it was the responsibility of leasing company to deliver the aircraft to PIA at Karachi Airport.

I guess PIA crew would have required clearance/permission/licence from French aviation authorities to fly the aircraft under French registration.

One of PIAs ATR Captain flew to Toulouse few days ago. Most probably he was also onboard but not sure if he flew the delivery flight or not.

As far as PIAs own crew flying the 72s is concerned, they only need to attend a short differences course and as far as i know the Simulator they attend is always of ATR 72 so that is not a big deal.

The PIA's Captain Shams Qureshi flew to Toulouse few days ago only to do the test flight along with French pilots, he was not onboard the delivery flight.
No differences course is there ..... just some minor checklist differences and weight difference is there! That's all ....

From PTV News report about the arrival of PIA ATR 72-500 construction number 1029 registration F-WNUE / AP-BKZ at Jinnah International Air Port (JIAP) - Karachi on April 11, 2015.

The ATR is acquired on eight-year dry lease from Abric Leasing Limited based in Dublin, Ireland.

A small step in the right directions.

I would be posting pictures when PIA inducts A330-200s or 787-800s and deploys them on flights to:

Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Rome, Athens, Istanbul, Barcelona, Chicago, Washington DC, Houston, Manila Hong Kong, Shanghai, Bangkok, Singapore, Jakarta, Nairobi, Dar es Salam, Kano, Colombo, Male, Teheran, Baghdad, Amman Beruit and so on.

We all wish and would love to see a large fleet of A 380 , B 787 in PIA fleet. Does large fleet of brand new aeroplanes guarantee the most important thing in airline "The Customer Confidence". You can get customers back at fast food outlets , clothing stores , grocery stores and in cinemas , once a traveller/customer lost confidence in airline it is impossible to gain it back.

When traveller/consumer/customer lost confidence in Pan Am,Eastern, People Express, TWA, Big Apple, Sabena, and many more, these airlines just vanished.

Question is with such a shaky and unsturdy management , other than the free riders, will PIA get the paying consumer back?
Airplane is flown with brain not with stick and rudder.

In a public meeting in Gilgit today, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that recently inducted ATR 72-500 aircraft will also be used for PIA flights to/from Gilgit and Skardu.
