^ Thank you for the photo and aircraft construction number. Is it at Toulouse-Francazal Airport in France?

Good to see this bird in PIA colours. Livery is fine, green-gold stripes fine too. But the green colour on the tail seems to be of shade, different than PIA colours. Anyways, paint can be corrected. Its getting the plane that actually counts. :D

The white atr in the background has a grey coloured belly. Probably it is also an ex- UT-air atr 72.

Hahahaaha, with one leased ATR 72 and two A 320s it shows new MD's good performance and PIA's glory back? Buddy what about those wet leased planes we have? Do you know PIA is paying USD 3500/hr for each aircraft for them while Airblue got the same for USD 1800 per hour? Wonder how much Shujaat Azeem is passing the bucks to the top. Just for your information, 80K bucks a day earning.....just saying..... ;-)

i think its a good start and hopefully they get all 5 as planned.
due to the crisis in ukraine-russia and resulting drop in demand,it should be easy to get extra planes on dry lease and the rates for wet-lease should be interesting as well.
are the currently wet leased planes actually flying the 275h guaranteed block hours?
can anyone help: how are the registration numbers determined?

Yes that other ATR in the background is also going to be in PIA livery and delivered by end of march hopefully !
6 A320s will also be inducted (2 deliveries per month) starting april-june.

5 ATRs and 6 A320s

Apart from this bids are being evaluated for 3 A330s and 4 more A320s !

All Russian Airlines are operating normal . Govt giving a good sport to them. But UT AIR close their sister company in Ukraine due to crisis and lost their business in AFRICA UN program also that is why facing big financial problem . They reducing operations and giving back extra planes to Leasing company, even ready to yield their queue of B 737-800 round 12 planes witch will be deliver soon to any airline. To get dry lease from any Russian airline is big problem because mostly plane have "VP" Bermuda and "EI" Irish Registrations so Maintenance should be according to BDCA or EASA and in Pakistan there is no EASA or BDCA approved MRO unfortunately. Wet Lease YES  .Can any body tell about usually guaranteed block hours? Thanks

While the induction of planes is nice and all, but my concern remains that currently only small/regional aircraft are being inducted.
What PIA really needs is widebodies, long-haul planes, that's the bread and butter and income generator of the airline.

I don't see anything happening on that end, everyone keeps talking about the 5 x B777 order, but if those are not coming, then it's indeed a very concerning situation. The current A310 and B777's keep getting grounded for issues every now and then, just adding to the shortage of long-haul fleet.....

You can add a 100 short-haul aircraft but that is not re-assuring if PIA is to survive.
We do need more direct flights from Pakistan to Europe/USA/Canada so that people can avoid security/transit hassles everywhere.
Travel itself is getting more complicated and difficult these days so direct flights are a necessity
