AirBlue to wet-lease three Ukrainian A321s

Post by Imran_kmalik »

According to some reports AirBlue (PA) will wet-lease three A321-200s from Wind Rose Aviation (Ukraine Base Carrier) during the course of this year.

Broker Balkan Air Aviation has announced that the Pakistani carrier will take delivery of the three aircraft beginning with one in mid-August while the other two will arrive in November this year. A total of three A321s will be operated for AirBlue from then until May 2015.

After the inclusion of these 03 A321 the total fleet of Airblue will consist of 08 Airbus family aircraft's.

Its nice to hear that AirBlue is moving forward  but why wouldn't they go for Airbus 330? i think Wind Rose have one.

I am sure they must have done thier maths, yet find it a bit adhoc for Pakistani private airlines fleet planning. A short lease here, a wet lease there, damp for a month, order here, cancel there.
Long term fleet plan is a key ingredient of an airline's business plan.
May be someone can throw some light.

I guess Windrose A330 would not be available for wet lease as they have their active operation from Ukraine more over i guess Airblue dont need long haul aircraft as they are not operating any long haul route.

Totally agreed long term fleet planing is one of the important ingredient of success in airline business. Some credit can be given to Shaheen
(NL) for good fleet planning in recent past.

Thank you for the reply Imran_kmalik and TAILWIND.. and yes I agree with TAILWIND too.

I don't understand one thing about Shaheen, they have a good fleet of A330s and still they're no planning to expand. They are stuck and have limited themselves to the Middle East only :( . I think Aviation business is not only about making revenue but to expand as well and not to forget a quality customer services.

Yes so true Shaheen is only limited to gulf opeation mainly because of good yield their.
But i guess now is the time shaheen should look for growth as they have good fleet to expand their route. They should start their calculations
for searching good yield routes :o :o

shaheen has played its cards well in regard to fleet and route planning. They focused on their strengths i.e. domestic and medium range and look how wel it turned out for them. They managed to geniunely break PIA's monopoly on routes like quetta and are doing well otherwise as well. Now as much as I respect airblue, it has had its shortcomings e.g. leasing those 340s was a disaster. and even now as you people pointed out there is no l.t fleet planning. then there is the issue with all female cabin crew. they should have atleast one male flt. attendant on each flt.
so much potential but going to waste because of wrong decisions.

Both of you don't get too happy. Knowing those planes will be operating in Pak, they just might send the oldest and scariest of the lot.

Windrose Airlines Airbus A321-211 (UR-WRO) has begun operating airblue flights.

The A321 is at the moment operating airblue flight PA-406 from Karachi to Lahore.

http://www.flightradar24.com/data/airplanes/ur-wro

Is UR-WRO configured to carry 218 passengers in single-class layout?
