That's precisely what everyone here has been thinking and feeling for a very long time.

From one of the facebook page:

A320's are again ON and most probably the same 10 year old a/c's are coming on which maintenance is due with 2 or 3 engines to be replaced also...........Not a good news to be shared but can't do much about it except one can pour his heart out on FB.....................In a country where Election commissioner is a person who is medically not fit for the job due his memory problem.........Then what one can expect any thing good for the National Flag Carrier.

I think there is no need to drag non-related issue of Election commissioner in an airline business :-k

I'm surprised because one of the future PIA A320 (former 9V-JSC, c/n 2395) wear now the registration TC-JUG and will soon start its operation with Turkish Airlines...

keep waiting.nothing will come...
after elections, another nominee will come and will choose something else.this has been going on and on.
as mentioned in another thread, their fleet size will be the smallest in so many yrs and i guess the number of employees at an all time high.
it is simply unsustainable

That's right.

Another Jetstar Asia Airbus A320-232 (c/n 2401, ex-9V-JSD) that was offered to PIA is also now going to join Turkish Airlines under registration TC-JUI.

PIA to get first Airbus A320 aircraft in June

21 April 2013

KARACHI -
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will receive the first of the four state-of-the art Airbus A320 aircraft in June, it was disclosed here on Saturday.

The other three Airbus A320s will join the PIA fleet by the end of this year to help the airline replace its ageing Boeing 737 planes.

The new Airbus aircraft will be deployed on the Middle East routes and on domestic destinations.

A PIA spokesman said that four medium-capacity Airbus A320 aircraft are being added in the fleet for making up the shortage of aircraft. The first will arrive in June, two in August, and the fourth in November. All these aircraft are being taken on dry lease.

A dry lease is an arrangement whereby an aircraft financing entity provides a plane without insurance, crew, ground staff, supporting equipment and maintenance, among others.

So the first A320 for PIA is now expected in first week june leased through BOC and payment for which has been made and LOI signed.
The next three aircraft are still being decided which will also be leased through BOC and should be finalized by end of this month.

the four jetstar aircraft as u all mentioned are no longer available to PIA, but the TAM airlines A320 was the only available aircraft by BOC at the time when the deal was finalized, so the first A320 in PIA fleet will be: (reference to page 1, post number 1 of this thread by Abbas Ali)
