Found some photos of Rawalakot Airport.

18-seater PIA Twin Otter aircraft were operating six flights a week from Islamabad to Rawalakot in 1996.

* Flight PK-429 on Islamabad->Rawalakot->Muzaffarabad route on every Thursday.
* Flight PK-425 on Islamabad->Muzaffarabad->Rawalakot route on every Saturday.
* Flight PK-423 on Islamabad->Rawalakot route on every Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday.
* Flight PK-433 on Islamabad->Rawalakot route on every Friday.

beautiful location and surrounding around the airport, pretty small terminal for this airport

Airport and Terminal was ok for the area but route was never profitable to begin with. Twin Otter used to come back to islamabad full but go back to Rawalakot with only 5-10% passenger load.

Local Businessmen used the route to go to Islamabad to buy stock for their shops but would take buses to come back to Rawalakot to bring their resaleable items. Hence route was not contributing to PIA's bottom line.

I flew to the Rawalakot in early 1990's and the airport had more bystanders than passengers like any Pakistani airport.
