Bhoja aircraft banned for general flights

Islamabad—The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Tuesday banned Bhoja Air Lines planes for general flights after finding some of the planes unfit to fly.

CAA had started inspection of passenger aircrafts operated by private airlines earlier on Monday after the fatal crash in Islamabad.

According to a private television channel, Airworthiness Instructor CAA cancelled the Airworthiness Certificate for 2 flights of Bhoja Airlines bound for Islamabad via Lahore from Karachi.

“ During inspection”, Instructor said, “ Planes were found unfit for general flights both domestic and international. They are grounded until clearance and obtainment of Airworthiness Certificate”.

He further added that objections were raised on the constituent parts of Bhoja Airlines planes including Landing Gear and Doors during inspection.

Planes carrying national flag of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) had already obtained airworthiness certificate from CAA.

Captain Mujahid al Islam, head of the team probing Bhoja Airline’s airliner crash, has said that the investigation into the tragic incident could take three months.

While talking to media at the crash site in Hussainabad on Tuesday he said several evidences of the incident have been sealed, adding that work to remove the remains would be begun within two days.

It is pertinent to mention here that a nine-member team is investigating the issue. The number of the team can be raised if needed.

A team of insurance company has also reached Pakistan which would provide compensation to the affected families after investigative report is finalised.

Does it mean that Bhoja Air is operating Karachi-Islamabad flight via Lahore due to low passenger loads for Islamabad from Karachi and carrying more passengers from Lahore for onward journey?

No you cannot say that with certainity. While yes there are striking similarities, but we must await the findings of an independent safety commission. And im afraid in Pakistan it will take forever.

No, we cannot assume that this is a similar incident like happened with Delta 191. Lets see what investigators conclude in the investigations :!:

I think the Pakistani authorities and all airport staff are a disgrace, I flew from Islamabad on the same day the tragic accident happened, everything from security to checkin to boarding the plane, in most airports first or business class passngers along with passengers with disabilities are allowed to board first, but in ISB everyone just boards at once,

I have seen some passengers with excess weight of over 40 kilos, and by just paying 2,000 or 3,000 rupees all the weight is allowed to go through, how does the pilots calculate all the weight and excess weight?

I think the whole process in ISB is sickening, and with yet another big loss of lives with the Bhoja Air crash
it really makes you worry with the flight you are going on, I personally feel safer flying with Emirates.

Not sure what other members think of this?
