Abbas I totally agree with you and this is what also baffles me whenever I read any press articles re AirBlue that they are the second largest carrier in Pakistan. As you have detailed Shaheen Air has more aircraft and more routes so how can this possibly be.

I also recall asking you this question before and we were just as confused.

I would be suprised if this is in terms of pax numbers because one would think and certainly hope that given Shaheen has so many more aircraft and routes, they should be carrying more pax too.

This is probably never going to happen. The possibility of this is just about as much as lets say 'AmericanAirlines launches new destinations; Peshawar via Kabul or Sana'a via Baghdad'. Yep only about that much. Atleast in the currenct socio-political-economic scenario and aviation trends.

And AIrblue winning this award, as someone above has said 'andhon mein kaana raja'
I know that this would not happen atleast not anytime soon, therefor I was just wishfully thinking. However it would be nice to have more flights on the JFK-PAK routes, whether if they are from PIA, Shaheen, Airblue, or any other Pakistani carrier.

The topic is not related to Shaheen Air but it is bit diverting to Shaheen Air due to having some comparison in between Airblue and Shaheen Air fleet & routes. Here, i think the Shaheen Air fleet comprising of B732s will not be functional totally as i can see some 3 of the B732s are grounded at Karachi in pretty bad condition, might be used for spares :-k

^ Very interesting photo. Will be good to know registration of those three Shaheen Air Boeing 737-200s that will help in finding information about current status of those three airframes.

Btw, in an advertising supplement in the month of February, Shaheen Air claimed to have 13 Boeing 737-200 aircraft in its fleet. But it's hard to independently verify current status of various aircraft airframes in Pakistan due to restrictions on aviation photography/spotting at airports in the country.

Anyway, Shaheen Air does appear to be bigger airline than AirBlue in terms of fleet size and route network.

airblue only boasting as everyone else.fasting growing = maybe add 1 plane in 5 years while another 1 crash. but have to agree they have the most modern fleet in pakistan.they definitely cost more than shaheen's dozen junk 737-200.
