Airline drama Pan Am comes to BBC Two

Post by Zulfiqar »

Perhaps this is not the most appropriate place to advertise this, then again, maybe it!
For those in the UK, 'Pan Am' starting in November 2011 on BBC2

Based around the iconic international airline, Pan Am will fly BBC Two viewers back to 1963 and the dawn of a glamorous new era of luxury air travel.

The series follows the lives of a group of Pan Am pilots and air hostesses as they take to the skies, crossing the globe in a jet-powered, seductive age, shaped by romance, shifting social values and international espionage.

Created by Jack Orman (ER) and directed by Thomas Schlamme (The West Wing), the series stars Christina Ricci, Mike Vogel, Kelli Garner, Margot Robbie, Karine Vanasse, and Michael Mosley.

Janice Hadlow, Controller BBC Two, says: "Pan Am captures the excitement and optimism of travel in the 1960s, when being an air hostess was the most glamorous occupation you could possibly have. With a love story at its heart and a great unfolding plot that hints at the danger and mystery to come, viewers will be in for an exciting but turbulent ride."
