AirBlue Flight ED-202 Memorial Site
JULY 28, 2011 - Video stills of AirBlue accident memorial site located close to Daman-e-Koh at foothills of Margalla hill range near aircraft crash site. The memorial was unveiled on accident's first anniversary on July 28, 2011.
Steps lead to this memorial site where black granite wall is engraved with names of crash victims.
152 trees have been planted in memory of 152 victims of this tragic air crash at the memorial site. Instead of invidual names simple number tags were seen attached to the newly planted trees.

Re: AirBlue jet down in Islamabad
According to following news report, AirBlue CEO supports public release of flight ED-202 accident report.
Hiding Report of AirBlue Crash in Nobody’s Interest: CEO
ISLAMABAD: Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AirBlue has urged the Government to make the provisional report presented by investigation team of Civil Aviation Auhtority (CAA) public so as the people could know about the actual cause of the worst ever air crash incident in the country.
“The investigation team completed the probe and handed it over to government four months ago, but the government has not made it public yet,†Shahid Khaqan said while talking to media here on Thursday.
The investigation team completed the probe of the worst air crash in a short span of nine months and report was presented to prime minister and now it is public property, Abbasi said.
“Hiding the report of the plane crash is in nobody’s interest, I wonder why the report is not being made public,†Abbasi said, adding that Prime Minister should make it public and inform people about the cause of the worst air crash in which 152 people lost their lives.
Abbasi said that the plane crash occurred neither due to any technical fault nor it was an act of terrorism.
AirBlue Chief, who is also Member National Assembly (MNA) of opposition Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) said that the amount of preliminary aid of Rs. 550,000 was paid to all the affected families of the air crash, while Rs. 500,000 being paid by the government were paid to 30 to 40 families due to some matters related to documentation.
Abbasi said that Rs. 5 million insurance claims per person were also paid to families of 60 deceased, while cases of 40 families are under process. Cases of 52 families are either in litigation or due to certificates is still pending and whenever these matter are resolved they would also be paid the compensation. He said that money is available, but due to some reasons there are delays.

Re: AirBlue jet down in Islamabad
This is a very brave statement by the CEO and deserves to be commended. He obviously knows what caused the accident even if (and I am making a huge leap of faith here) it implicates the airline.

A very brave statement indeed. Having ruled out technical fault and terrorism, only thing left is pilot error.

Re: AirBlue jet down in Islamabad
If the airline has the Provisional report, then Shahid Khaqan Abbasi can issue the report from the airline. Why Afraid?

Re: AirBlue jet down in Islamabad
As the AirBlue crash report is prepared by Pakistan government-run CAA so I think AirBlue cannot release details of CAA report.
I believe only Pakistan CAA or Pakistan Goverment is authorized to make this report public.
Similarly, Flight Data Recorder/Cockpit Voice Recorder decoding process was completed in France but apparently French BEA is not allowed to release its comments on FDR/CVR decoding results. This was told to me by a French friend.
Only Pakistani authorities (CAA or Pakistan Government) can release FDR/CVR decoding results to news media/public.

I think CVR tape and FDR decoding remain the property of Airliner after investigation. No matter it was investigated by CAA of other. Airblue is authorised to made this report public as per aviation laws..
But everything is possible in this situation where every day comes with hundreds of anonymous death warrents.....!!!

It is very brave of the CEO to say the report should be published. Maybe he is saying that because he is absolutely sure it won't?!

Investigation Report of AirBlue Accident Presented to Prime Minister
AUGUST 3, 2011 - According to local news channels, investigation report of AirBlue accident has been presented to Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and he was briefed about the report which has been prepared by Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Safety Investigation Board.
Prime Minister has approved sending this report to aircraft maker Airbus under international recommended procedures. Opinion of Airbus on this report is sought/expected in next 60 days, according to Pakistani news channels.
I think copies of this report will also be sent to aviation companies and bodies like aircraft engine maker International Aero Engines (IAE), BEA-France and NTSB to get their opinion.
All this seems like useless time wasting and delaying tactics to make people, with the passage of time, forget their demand for the public release of completed investigation report.
PTV August 3, 2011, 9:00PM 'Khabarnama' news report.
