Sources said the decoding process will take more than six months.
This is beyond my understanding that it takes more than 6 months  . I remember back in 2003 when PIA B742 (AP-BAK) aborted takeoff in ISB while departing for MAN, my father brought the DFDR readings within a week and I myself read those readings where the ENG 1 and 2 were producing thrust of 111% but 3 was producing 109.5% and 4 was 105%.

There have been attempts to hit Kahuta in the past. Not sure if Blackwater personnel would like to embrace 'Corporate Shahdat' to achieve wishful goals of their neo-con masters. So this theory is little far fetched.

Pakistan bad wishers also know that there are controls and mechanisms in place within and around Kahuta for a pre-emptive response in case any un-authorized object is moving towards it (which lies almost on the other side of Islamabad highway very close to the Chaklala Airbase/ISB). No aircraft or missile has much of a chance of hitting Kahuta. Even if Kahuta is damaged, it'll not have much of an effect on Pakistan's nuclear capabilities both in terms of human and scientific capital. They have been replicated. Pakistan has already ensured that. Such bad wishers can basically dream on.....and on.... :D

Apparently that opinion/theory was given by its writer before the recovery of both FDR and CVR of ill-fated AirBlue Airbus A321 on July 31.

Both FDR and CVR of the crashed aircraft have reached France for decoding process, according to news reports.

Various types of conspiracy theories will emerge on media from time to time till the completion of FDR/CVR decoding process and release of complete investigation report.

The CVR and FDR details will reveal what happened during last moments of aircraft's flight and how this accident happened.

I hope complete investigation report including details obtained from CVR and FDR get released to media and general public as promised by a number of government officials.

There are loads of conspiracy theories being spread arround. The most famous one, aircraft was shot down or even shut down by(apparently they can do that remotely). There was another one saying, somebody was caught while trying to crash/blow up a plane at LHE inbound from London, and he admitted airblue crash as well.
You realy have to blame people like Dr Masood and Kamran Khan for this.Media has played a utterly disgusting role after this accident.
BTW I got all these theories from different Face Book pages set up in memory of Airblue crash.

The man who made hoax threat call for PIA flight from London to Lahore has been arrested.

Here's news report in August 10 edition of Urdu daily 'Waqt'.

Source: www.dailywaqt.com

According to newspaper report, a man who made hoax threat phone call between the night of August 5 & 6 at Lahore Airport has been arrested by Crime Investigation Agency (CIA), Lahore Cantonment. The threat making call was received by Lahore Airport flight enquiry on phone number 114.

The arrested man had threatened to blow-up PIA flight PK-758 which was scheduled to land at Lahore Airport in early hours of August 6. In threat making call, he claimed that flight PK-758 would be destroyed if it's allowed to land at Lahore Airport and flight's destruction would be like the destruction of AirBlue flight which crashed in Islamabad on July 28. On receiving this call, the security of airport was enhanced and details of threat making call were forwarded to police.

The threat making call was made from a cell phone number which enabled security officials to trace and arrest this man from Iqbal Town, Lahore.

According to initial investigation, the arrest man wanted to marry a girl but somehow that girl's sister was not in favour of this marriage and she wanted to arrange marriage of her sister with some other man. The girl's same sister was coming to Lahore on flight PK-758 and apparently that's why the arrested man made hoax threat call in an attempt to prevent landing of flight PK-758 at Lahore Airport on August 6.

I don't think anyone would be that stupid, even in this country, to crash a plane into a nuclear power plant.

Abbas,

I don't know how you can be optimistic about the public release of the accident investigation since we haven't published anything in 62 years.

I am not hopeful at all. It will all be covered up.

These theories will raise more and more till the complete investigation report will not be published and as per the old track record of previous governments maximum of the reports had been never published i.e. PM Liaquat Ali Khan, Fokker crash in Multan etc.

Liaqat, East Pakistan debacle, Bhutto's execution, Zia's plane crash, Akbar Bugti murder, Musharaff's plane returning from Sri Lanka, Benazir's assasination......we are told nothing. Just a pack of lies speculation and rumors.

So what's a plane crash in the context of the above?

In my opinion, Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) should declassify reports of all civil aircraft accidents that happened in Pakistan and were investigated by its air crash investigation teams. Accidents of Pakistan-registered aircraft that happened outside Pakistan where CAA team also took part in investigation process, reports of those accidents should also be declassified.

All these declassified civil aircraft accident reports should be posted on official CAA website www.caapakistan.com.pk. On CAA website, there should be air accident investigation reports section where all these declassified civil aircraft accident reports from the past as well as future aircraft accident reports including AirBlue accident report to be completed in coming months should be posted and made available for reading to everyone. The accident reports will be useful and informative for aviation professionals, aviation enthusiasts, historians and general public.

With the Black Box(es) going back to France (probably EADS), I think there will be some level of transparency-so we should be able to get unbiased information...hopefully. Of course, with the French and EADS, one never knows if its deemed detrimental to France/EADS... :cover: :duck:

Haha...just kidding (90%)....

Ramadan Mubarak to every one!

I have heard some people claiming that they saw the aircraft descending over 7th Avenue, then pilot lifted the aircraft and after a few moments they heard the explosion. It appeared like the pilot confused 7th Avenue with runway and when he realized that it is a road he tried his best to climb over the Margalla Hill but unfortunately failed to do so.

It seems ridiculous to me that I senior pilot like Captain Chaudhry can commit such a blunder. Please can anyone advise if it is possible at all? (I know a lot of aviation savvies are following these discussions)

Or may be the pilot tried to attempt a crash landing on 7th Avenue and then changed his mind and tried to gain some elevation to clear the Margalla hills?

If this has already been discussed in this topic, please disregard and accept my apologies.
