Abbas, to my knowledge no such chart exists. I used to have JeppView installed on my old PC and there was no such chart for Islamabad OPRN

May Allah grant all the departed souls in heaven(Ameen)

A friend of mine who is also related to the Capt Family and is also a friend of the ChiefPilot Training of Airblue told me that the Capt was Hospitalized for some treatment around 3 months back and remained in Hospitals for more than 2 weeks. Further he told also that because of Shabe-e Rat he kept on praying whole the night(That is till late inti the night) He may have been a victim of Fatigue! No rest!. What added to his misery was his co Pilotwho was quite inexperienced specially in a weather like this. At least in my eighteen years I never flew a fighter for training in such weather soit must be his first or just a few time he was faced with such a weather. Now what the Chief Pilot of Airblue says that these Fighterpilot guys have to much problems in understanding. reading and interprating the Jeppesen charts and it is difficult for them to adhere to them. What i was told that most of these guys learn about jeppesen once they are senior First officer. So this might has added to the misery as the Co Pilot is the only person inducted by Airblue this year that to by some Influential person approaching Abbasi Sb. So my advise to Shahid Khaqan is listen to sifarish if one meets certain criteria otherwise ,godforbid, your airline may not last for long.

thunderfalcon: Are you saying the when PAF pilots are inducted in AirBlue, they don't go through enough training on civilian aircraft, navigational processes and procedures etc? If I am not wrong, PIA used to induct PAF pilots on F-27 first after due training and then move them upwards. AirBlue does not have any small aircraft, so not sure about their process or policy in this space

Please....The FO was not inexperienced. 2 years of line flying is in the eyes of the West an experienced FO. Don't be so quick to blame experience. I've flown with pilots who have been flying for 20 years but need to have their license revoked!

Ameen ^

A very tragic incident indeed. May Allah grant jannah to those who have passed away and give their families patience.

There have been some serious questions raised, and rightly so. I hope they get answered soon

He was so young and had
so much to do in life... Mohammad Abdul Qudoos (KT Exclusive)

2 August 2010 Abu dhabi — UAE-based relatives and friends of the co-pilot of Airblue plane that crashed in Islamabad on July 28, are mourning the death of the 35-year-old Syed Mujtanibuddin Ahmed.
Mujtanib, who had joined Airblue about a year ago after taking retirement as a squadron leader from Pakistan Air Force, was the youngest of
three brothers.

His father, Syed Aliuddin Ahmed, and two brothers are settled in the UAE. The eldest, Maqsood, a banker with Al Hilal Bank in Abu Dhabi, was able to reach Karachi the same day (July 28) after receiving the news of the crash.

With him travelled his father, wife and four children of his younger brother Misbah, who live in Dubai.

However, the departure of Misbah, a chartered accountant, was delayed since his passport was not readily
available.

Relatives in Dubai told Khaleej Times that Maqsood and other close family members brought the body of Mujtanib from Islamabad to the family home in Malir Cantonment where was buried by the side of his mother in
Yasinabad Graveyard.

His mother had died in 2002 after suffering brain hemorrhage on her way to the airport in Karachi and had remained in coma for several months.

“We are constantly in touch with the family in Karachi, making and receiving calls all day, trying to come to terms with the reality.

Mujtanib’s death is a great loss for us. He was so young and had so much to do in life,” a relative said, trying to control her emotions.

Abu Dhabi-based banker Ijteba Reza, a colleague and family friend of Maqsood, told Khaleej Times that he had met co-pilot Mujtanib in Karachi.

“It was when me, Maqsood, his father and family had landed at Karachi airport. Mujtanib came to receive us in his uniform and facilitated our processing at the airport.” Ijteba recalls.

“He hailed from a very good family. I was impressed by his politeness, courtesy, and helpfulness,” Ijteba said of Mujtanib.

Mujtanib had received education from a prestigious cadet college in Pakistan. His family, wife and two sons — one son is six and the other is four-year-old — had celebrated the eighth anniversary of their wedding on July 12. Mujtanib died on July 28.

So many sad stories and personal tradegies arising form this terrible, terrible accident. Allah rest the souls of all involved.

Putting all the conspiracy theories to bed the FDR and CVR has been found Hope the truth will be revealed-

Could it be a classic case of a "chain" of events causing the Pilots to lose situational awareness ?

Thank you R.F. and Iqbal.

Following image/chart are getting circulated via email these days.

This probably shows the circling area in which the AirBlue aircraft should have stayed.

Chart like the one already posted by Iqbal.
