I remember seeing photos of a PIA Fokker F-27 parked on segment of apron built with similar tiles at Peshawar Airport.

Re: Sialkot
I think they look nice and I would not be surprised to learn that there is an industrial unit in the Sialkot area that produced these pavers. I'm all for using locally sourced materials in such projects when possible and when appropriate.TAILWIND wrote:May be Abbas can aswer this, As already pointed out in this thread, these tuff tiles on the tarmac areent a bit strange if not unique...I havent seen these on any other airport ever?
As an aside, a lot of cities around the world are now mandating that a percentage of new public thoroughfares have a cobblestone or paver surface - plain concrete is finally going out of style.

Re: Sialkot
Night shot of B747 is indeed the greatest from all others so far in this thread, just magnificent!!
Yup it sure look as that L100-30 is done for good by looking at the pictures in other forum.
Significant and major damage was sustained by undercarriage as a result aft fuselage also seems to have buckled also due to heavy landing!. Sad to see another great lost it's life like that..

How does an aircraft damaged beyond repairs in Afghanistan end up in Sialkot? Or am I missing something here?

Re: Sialkot
they should build a small hotel next to terminal so it can attract foreign cargo carriers to the airport..
