Re: Air Indus
AOA,
Another private carrier on its way . The CAA team left last thursday for inspection of
the four (4) Airbus-320, Air Indus is leasing. The top management has also started contacting the main aviation people. So things are finally on the move ! ! !

Re: Air Indus
Just 4 A320s and such a big network?
I don't get this.
Either the network they are showing on their website is overblown or sort of their wishlist, or they own more planes. They're flying to UK even, and in the far east too.

Must be there wishlist or marketing strategy. Every airline has to fly 1-2 years
domestic before they go Intenational as per CAA regulations ..

Re: Air Indus
Another Pearl Air, Safe Air type carrier? I really hope not! Let see. With the Pakistani market so saturated is there any need for another carrier?
ps. Website does not seem to be working.

Re: Air Indus
They have only given the main page and if u see below, its written
COMING SOON .. the website is under process.
Secondly i doubt it will be like Safe air or Pearl, as the investor is from some
Saudi aviation lobby. And the top management has been hired from airblue.
As per sources :
Managing Director : S. Nasir Ali (Ex.Director Marketing PIA & Ex-MD airblue)
Director Flight Operations : Capt. Morgan S Felix (Ex-DFO PIA & Ex-DFO airblue)
They were the key guys in airblue from the first day and coz of them airblue is going so high. If they are with Indus Air now, then this means serious business.

Re: Air Indus
With people so experienced and Saudi financial backing, why have they got a sub-standard homepage (I understand they are developing it). They could make it look a bit sophisticated and elegant, instead it looks rubbish. A silly little plane going to London via every other place along the way. I don't remember AirBlue with such an amateur website, how can someone take them seriously? They better shape up.cadet45 wrote:They have only given the main page and if u see below, its written

Re: Air Indus
Dear Mr.Z,
airblue had a single page website with just "airblue" written for about 8 months .
So give them a break , i guess they have alot more to do before launching the airline
then just to concentrate on webpage
..
We just start comparing for no reason
. Let them launch first which will hopefully be done soon and then we can compare with airblue, Pearl and Safeair ..
I hope u got my point ..

Re: Air Indus
Has Pakistan CAA issued Air Operators Certificate (AOC) to them ? or is AOC issued after induction of aircraft ?
Interestingly an airline with similar name i.e. 'Indus Air' was formed in India also few years ago but Indus Air of India is no longer an active airline.

Re: Air Indus
Cadet45, Don't get me wrong, I wish them all the best and hope they do well and go further than Bhoja, Safe Air, Indus Air etc. Inshallah. At least, as you point out, they plan to get modern aircraft. Constructive criticism is not a bad thing.cadet45 wrote:Dear Mr.Z,

Just stating the airline's name, a logo and a mission statement (does not cost much and they can concentrate on setting up other things) would have better then the annoying graphics. They must have thought about it and paid someone to do it, that's why it's up and running (or rather flying). Perhaps, some people like it, I don't (but still caught my eye!).
As for the comparison is concerned, well you did mention the MD and DFO are ex-Air blue (hence the comparison), so they should bring some experience to the new airline. And, they are getting A320's. Good branding and marketing is essential for success (perhaps not always the case in Pakistan) and they should know this.

Re: Air Indus
Dear Mr.Z
Good criticism is not bad at all and is always welcome
U may not like there W.page but im sure the abundance of aviation
experience they are coming from, surely will create some magic like Airblue
did back in June 2004 (Inshallah).
I guess there stats might be showing some potential in airline industry in Pakistan
if they have planned to invest a huge amount in private sector, keeping in mind the
unstable state of our country's economy & history of Private Airlines in Pakistan.
Lets just pray for them and keep our fingers crossed.
Cheers ..

DGCA grounded it within a week of it commencing operations for failing to abide with flight safety and other regulations.Abbas Ali wrote: Interestingly an airline with similar name i.e. 'Indus Air' was formed in India also few years ago but Indus Air of India is no longer an active airline.

Re: Air Indus
Well I just spoke to someone regarding Nasir Ali and they don't think he will accept the job due to his family commitments. They've interviewed alot of retired PIA people and have taken on board someone named Kaleem (I forgot the surname) who was also in the finance dept of PIA at one time. From the looks of it they seem serious about getting off the ground.
