PIA to purchase twenty-seven new aircraft

PIA is to purchase 27 ,twenty-seven new aircraft.Nine to ten aircraft will be delivered in 2010.The airline will be requiring 80-100 new sets of professional crew,i.e,around 160 to 200 more pilots.That is the reason the airline is starting Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Flying academy in Nawabshah.Inaugration will be on 14th of August 2009,by the president of Pakistan,Mr.Asif Ali Zardari.
An advertisement for academy cadets is expected this month.

Now they're starting a 'Shaheen BB Flying Academy'??? Why not name the airline Shaheed BB Intl Airlines'? Why not just rename the whole country 'Shaheedistan'?? This weird obsession with Martyrdom is sick.

We are actually waiting for an opportunity for Shaheed Zardari to be counted as well. Then the airline can be renamed Shaheed Zardari Airlines.

... this airline cant properly operate its current fleet and is sucking blood out of ordinary people only so some elites can have a fun time working for big bucks in this airline.

.........Govt and PIA should be ashamed of putting this much money into this elephant which is flying no where....... especially when less than 1% of Pakistani population is using this Pee Iii Aay.....

god dang man, how many more things r they gonna name after her? i think they are simply doing it because of mr.zardari. he will be guest of honour, and to get his support money etc, offcourse they will have to meet the requirement of naming it after her.

I should hardly think naming anything after her will cause him to give his blessing or open his wallet for anyone or anything. Only recently he was staying at a $15,000 per night hotel in NY followed by a succession of single women visiting him at all hours of the day and night. Doesn't look like much of a widower to me.

I didn't even recalling him shedding any tears at the time of his wife's funeral.....

The man's a certified joke and a semi-certified thief and crook. Too bad all of the charges against him somehow get dropped.

Must thank Gen. Mush for dropping all charges all in the name of 'National Reconciliation' what a joke...........Pakistan is not a nation any more just a mob of 160 million people.

What will be the criteria of selection of cadets in this club,i hope it will be purely on sifarish,and after that what will happen to the other reputaed flying clubs of pakistan.
in my opinion there is no need for such a club a total waste of money,at one end we r crying that the airline have no money,and on other hand we r spending lavishly.
There are more then 100 cpl holders out there who r waiting for a job,who spend their parents hard earned money,but have no sifarish.y not take them first.

to b honest the all the flying clubs have become very money oriented since this whole induction of pilots have started about in pia,,its very shameful to see students paying so much and not to see quality training in the flying clubs,,plus the egos of flying clubs have gone skyhigh,,even if u want ure child to start into flying as a career ,,u have to think atleast 2 years bfrehand because u want to be sure and certain because the flying clubs themselves have their own waiting lists which have as about so many students already havin their names written,,so its like u wait for ure chance,,,,so the parents have to go through alot,,,plus its risky,,by the time you wait ,the first semester for the universities you wanted ure son to get into has already started,,soo u see,,its like a gamble here,,with the flying academy ,,alteast there will be some surety in it,,
