On December 9, 2009, at a seminar
on Aviation Safety Standards held at PIA Training Centre (PTC)
in Karachi, Senior Air Hostess Miss Dur-e-Najaf, Cabin Crew in
Flight Services Department, was presented Safety Award by PIA
in recognition of her brave performance on June 9, 2009, after
bomb blast at Pearl Continental (PC) Hotel in Peshawar.
Despite being a victim of the
blast, she kept herself composed and tried to stop her
companions and other people from using a lift which
collapsed in the aftermath of blast. She then guided crew and
others to safety thus demonstrating immense qualities of head
and heart in decision making during crucial moments |
