Capt. Farooq Ahmad (on extreme left - wearing dark glasses) looking at Mi-17 helicopter of PIA parked at Islamabad Airport on July 7, 1995. Later that day Capt. Farooq traveled as passenger aboard the copter on its proving flight to Abbottabad, Bhurban and Sialkot. The Russian-made helicopter, sporting 1990s PIA livery with Uzbek registration UK-27089, was acquired on lease by PIA from Uzbekistan for scheduled passenger flights to Abbottabad, Bhurban, Sialkot and Peshawar from its base at Islamabad Airport. The copter was also available for charter service to Shogran, Kalam, Naran and Chitral
