One of three brand new Boeing 720-040B jetliners ordered by PIA is seen undergoing control checks at Boeing Company's Renton Washington Factory, USA. Here the slotted flaps and fillet flaps are at full down position and the spoilers are full up. The inboard left aileron is also lifted up. Also note the aircraft is awaiting to fully receive its Pakistani registration as indicated by pre-fix 'AP' painted on rear fuselage. The first three brand new Boeing 720B jets ordered by PIA were delivered as AP-AMG, AP-AMH and AP-AMJ between December 1961 and November 1962

Adjustments are made to Pratt & Whitney JT3D engines of PIA's brand new Boeing 720-040B before aircraft's flight test programme begins from Boeing Company's Renton Washington Factory, situated some 13 miles southeast of Seattle, USA. The weather in Seattle is notably different from California, where the other US jetliner builders were, but none the less, considerable finishing work was completed in the open, exposed to the elements
