According to news report on following link, the ATR with 41 passengers onboard on landing approach to Bahawalpur Airport performed go-around maneuver during which one of the engines developed some fault and it had to be shut down. The aircraft landed safely at Bahawalpur Airport where the next day it was checked by a team of PIA Engineering that came from Multan. The team after completing inspections cleared the aircraft to depart from Bahawalpur for Islamabad with passengers.
The airport manager says that the aircraft engine had not caught fire, only engine fire indication was received in the cockpit. The crew did not seek emergency services when they landed at Bahawalpur Airport with a shut down engine.
An unnamed source in the news report says that one of the engines developed fault when power was applied/increased for go-around procedure. The go-around maneuver was performed because the aircraft was not properly aligned with the runway during landing approach.
