Pakistan Navy tender notice in April 22 newspaper for the construction of 9000 feet long and 150 feet wide main runway with Load Classification Number 45 (LCN-45) at Ormara.

Maybe existing Runway 06/24 of Ormara Airport to be extended/reconstructed? Apparently the airfield is also used as Pakistan Navy Naval Air Station.



In the past, PIA operated Fokker F27 flights to/from Ormara Airport.

On August 3, 2017, Chief of Naval Staff of the Pakistan Navy Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah performed ground breaking of new runway at Naval Air Station Ormara, Balochistan.

Speaking on the occasion, he said construction of new runway is yet another manifestation of Pakistan Navy’s aim of westward expansion.
