air asia does not use boarding bridges in kuching.
once on the tarmac no clear indication of where to go- so just follow the 'flow' to the pier of the boarding bridge to climb a stairs to the terminal.
briefly stopped to watch the pushback of this mas b737-800

return flight was scheduled for early afternoon.however only after reaching the airport that i got to know that the flight was delayed by 2hrs.and as we were already ahead of schedule and no lugguage to drop and online check-in with boarding passes already printed out, there was plenty of time to spend in the coffee shop in the departure waiting area= plenty of time to capture some pics.
all the passenger traffic is by narrow body a320 for air asia and boeing 737 for malaysian airlines. the only widebody that i saw was a malaysian airlines cargo a330.
air asia now has about a dozen of fights from kuching to kuala lumpur and other flights to other cities in east malaysia.
these 2 b737 are still in the old livery.

thx.
flying from low cost carrier terminal kul to other cities does offer good chances for photography- although discreet phone pics.
in kul its all the same dozens of air asia but the layout allows a wonderful walk towards your plane.
but soon its going to be over once they shift to the new low cost terminal.
will soon post some pics from the same trip

by the time of my departure it already started to rain heavily.
and air asia does not use boarding bridges although they park next to it and in spite of the heavy borneo rain.
but they are well equipped.they provide large umbrellas for the passengers. some staff were drenched.
