thanks for the appreciation
these pics from the return journey (got a aisle seat-so no pics of the tarmac)
the airport becomes busy at night with medium/long haul flights. on that night the other flights included:
air mauritius a330-200 to delhi
air mauritius a340-300 to paris cdg
air france b777-300er to paris cdg (until recently it was b747-400)
emirates b777-300 to dubai ( it comes in the morning at 9.30am then relax till the night flight @ 11pm)
the 3 above flights are daily flights.emirates adding a second daily777 as from december.
british airways b777-200er to gatwick.

in addition there were still 4 a340-300 with no roles for the night( due to the european ceconomic crisis mk has shut down a few stations)

the a330-200 is configured with 24 business class seats and 250 economy seats in 2-4-2 arrangement. quite uncomfortable leg space.
food also is awful. they are cutting cost so they dont print out the menu.the FAs walk down the aisle asking passengers " chicken or fish". it is up to the passengers to guess with what sauce/style or with rice or pasta.
