Re: PIA to Dry Lease Narrow-body and Turboprop Aircraft
Mistakes in painting of PIA A320 in retro livery apparently indicate lack of passion/seriousness/interest shown by individuals given task to paint the aircraft.
To remove mistakes, colour sketch of A320 in 1960s PIA livery should have been prepared before painting the actual aircraft.
There are many high resolution photos of PIA aircraft in 1960s livery available on aviation photography websites that should have been checked carefully before painting this A320.

Yes, I agree this shows lack of passion and interest. But, I believe 1960's livery reproducers/plotters are responsible for major mistakes because painters just use their provided plotting samples.
Second, time-bar push those individuals to move too fast to paint the whole aircraft, which cause such mistakes as "PIA" logo reported missing on AP-BLW.

Where is the face palm smilie? What can I say now? I guess this can be looked at as the A320 in the 1970's livery. I should have just given them my big PIA 707 model which had the correct livery on it for reference.

Now we know all the major and the minor flaws in this newly done livery. If there's someone here whose there in the PIA engineering at JIAP can forward these flaws to the concerned person and painters if they can make those small flaws right.

Re: PIA to Dry Lease Narrow-body and Turboprop Aircraft
So has the fleet strength (numbers) increased or decreased with all these inductions and overall operations?
A310's are reduced and A320s are coming slowly.....can anyone update us on how many operational aircraft now? Are we still at around 20ish?

Nice photos, is it me or did PIA really do such a crude job on AP-BLV's livery stripes?747-300 wrote:PIA-ATR 72-500-AP-BKZ-OPKC-25R by abdus sattar00, on Flickr

Re: PIA to Dry Lease Narrow-body and Turboprop Aircraft
As per latest information, they fixed following errors which were made in 1960's livery paint job.
1. Starboard side, the tiny stylised aircraft crossing PIA tail logo, now flying in forward direction as per it's original design.
2. Starboard side, all stars which were painted up-side-down now repainted in right direction.
I hope that all remaining errors will be fixed.
BTW, aircraft on same position and our discussed errors fixed. You Guys Rocked!

Re: PIA to Dry Lease Narrow-body and Turboprop Aircraft
Some corrections being made in retro livery sported by PIA Airbus A320-214 registration AP-BLA.

Corrections include angle of stars and direction of stylised aircraft crossing PIA logo.
Thank you Hamza for sharing!

^ Now looking okay.
* Hope 'Pakistan International' titles on fuselage also change to thinner italic font (PAKISTAN INTERNATIONAL).
* Pakistan flag on fuselage should also be slightly tilted like in 1960s livery.
* A small patch of black anti-dazzle paint below flight deck windows will bring it further closer to 1960s livery.

Guess someone associated with this paint job is following this forum. They are correcting those defects which were mentioned here
