Re: PIA to Dry Lease Narrow-body and Turboprop Aircraft
Guys please have discussion without getting personal with each other - thank you.
PIA Airbus A320-214 registration AP-BLU is expected to depart today from Prague at 8:00 PM local time for ferry/delivery flight to Karachi. So, I think AP-BLU will land at Karachi Airport in early hours of May 13.
Registration AP-BLW is allocated to Airbus A320-214 construction number 2789 ex-OK-LEG of CSA Czech Airlines.
Today, A320 construction number 2789 under Czech registration OK-LEG performed test flight from/to Prague.

Re: PIA to Dry Lease Narrow-body and Turboprop Aircraft
Great to see the A320 fleet jump to nine aircraft, wish it was done a few years ago.
But shouldn't the wet lease aircraft had stayed a bit longer until the dry leased A320s entered service.
Wont this departure of wet leased aircraft disturb schedules??
9 777s 6 A310s 9 A320s total of 24 jets, still far short of the fleet in 2008.
2008 having 6 747s 9 777 12 A310s 7 737s 34 jets.
PIA needs wide body jets to revive some long haul routes.

But the route these two aircraft's are taking seems to be a longer one in comparison to the one that normally UK bound flights take.
Maybe a stop at Turkey for refueling?

Even if they stop in Turkey, its a longer route as they flew south of Lahore and now entering into Iranian Airspace.

Exactly. That's what I am unable to understand that why use a longer route when you are allowed to fly a shorter one.Abdulrafeysiddiqui wrote:Even if they stop in Turkey, its a longer route as they flew south of Lahore and now entering into Iranian Airspace.
