Yes, it was Airbus A310-324ET (AP-BGO).
But, let's not forget that a PIA Boeing 777-240ER (AP-BGJ) was also recently held at Paris Airport.
It seems EU officials were unsatisfied with maintenance work done on these two aircraft.
Not with the current standard of PIA Maintenance or rather lack of the same. Mind you, I dont hold anything against PIA Engineering i think we still have some very talented engineers and mechanics but its just the whole ill management, lack of resource, transparency from the higher levels etc. I still think these 310 aircraft will not be ecomomically viable to maintain for so many more years, perhaps they are fine for a short term substitute till PIA can hopefully get their act together...soon i can only hope!

Even if PIA got 737 -500s to substitute its narrowbody fleet, it's good enough.
Nadir those A310's are already hitting 20 years (1992/93 manufactured) and another 15-20 years will make them 35-40 years old. I seriously doubt those planes will last that long and PIA should give up this policy of running planes into the ground. I'd give them another 10 years at the most.

If they were indeed $2 million/plane and they last 8-10 years then it was a good investment. That being said, PK must get the interiors up-to-date.
Also, hopefully PK will get good rates on parts & spares from Airbus as well.
Found following information about this A310 deal in PIA January 1 to September 30, 2012, financial report.
During the period (January 1 to September 30, 2012) under review, the (Pakistan International Airlines) Corporation exercised its right to buy 6 leased Airbus A310 aircraft, which resulted in favourable adjustment of PKR 1.8 bn and this has been recorded in financial statements as other income.
The $15 million was paid by the PIA as maintenance reserves over a period of eight years from 2003 to 2011 for the maintenance of six leased aircraft.
The reconciliation deal revealed that the PIA management has agreed not to claim $15 million from the Airbus and adjust it in some future deal with the company.
