Either the young pilot is too good (I doubt it), or has really good connections/ approach.

PIA has a number of young Boeing 747 First Officers promoted from ATR 42-500 and some of them must be youngest Boeing 747 First Officers in PIA's history.

It will also be interesting to know youngest Boeing 747 captain in PIA's history. I've heard that Capt. Baakza was one of youngest PIA Boeing 747 commanders during early years of aircraft type's service with PIA.

People who are at the moment flying on 747, I am the youngest, BUT, with new guys coming on 747 from ATR, I am sure I will not hold this title for long.

No, because KLM case was twenty years ago, the boy you named was only 5 years of age back then, KLM was latest technology and largest airliner in the world back then, as 744 debuted in 1988.

PIA guy wil be flying mid-80s vintage classic 747 of second hand category which were stored in the desert for quite a while before PIA took them on, PIA have been flying them for a decade now.

And the fact KLM pilot was a WOMAN flying largets ailriner and latest aircrfat of that time, in todays term a woman or man of that age flying an A380 would have matched that.

KLM woman in her early 20s could also have been on the 742 or 743.

Pilots from 2001 batch were promoted to 747s sometime back, and now some more are getting trained as mentioned above. Question is why and how this requirement came up? How many FOs are actually required on 747 and which equipment they will fly next? Why the pilots from 777 or 310 were not sent up to fly 747? Is there any 'Career Plan' being followed in PIA? and what does PALPA has to say on this?
